Several people were inquiring about how to play the money race games. I apologize because I usually include the directions.
I'm not exactly sure where the game originally came from but I have seen several versions of the Race to $1.00 game. I started playing years ago in second grade.
This is just my version and the way I play.
My students usually play in partners. Each student needs a bag of coins, a game board and a die. Each takes turns rolling the die and adding that number of pennies to the game board. At each turn they must tell the other how much money they have on their board. They may make trades to move across the board. The winner is the first to make a dollar.
I created the dime and quarter game boards so that we could practice with smaller amounts.
Since we have to count bills up to $20.00 I created the last board to practice counting bills. In that case, as they roll the die, they add that number of quarters to their game board.
